A software that turns text into music

NEW YORK: Researchers, including one of Indian-origin, have used a first-of-its-kind software to translate the emotions of the written word into music. The work could transform the way people interact with literature and spark new ways to visualise information, such as audiovisual e-books that generate music according to the emotions on the page or novel music apps, researchers said. Gomez wants to wipe Bieber out of her life

Singer Selena Gomez is trying to "erase" Justin Bieber from her life and doesn't even want to say his name anymore. The 21-year-old, who has had an on-off relationship with Bieber, is trying to forget him so that she can move on with her life, reports contactmusic.com. Gomez was shooting her Adidas Neo commercial in New York last month, where she asked all traces of Bieber to be removed from her working environment and didn't even want to say his name. "A few of the camera guys names were Justin and her team asked if their names could be changed for a while so she didn't have to say the name Justin," said a source. Meanwhile, Bieber has been linked to a number of beauties since the pair reportedly had a big fight, including 18-year-old model Yovanna Ventura and Gomez's friend and socialite Kylie Jenner.

Eminem reaches to mom on Mother's Day [VIDEO]

LOS ANGELES -- Rapper Eminem released a video for his latest single, Headlights, in which he says he forgives his mother for their difficult past. Eminem's mother, Debbie Mathers, has long been fodder for some of the rapper's songs, including Cleaning Out My Closet, which he mentions in the latest release. He released the video for Headlights, fittingly, on Mother's Day, indicating a bit of regret for perhaps being a bit to harsh on his mother in his music. "Never thinking about who what I said hurt, in what verse My mom probably got it the worst The brunt of it, but as stubborn as we are Did I take it too far? Cleaning Out My Closet and all them other songs But regardless I don't hate you 'cause, Ma, You're still beautiful to me, 'cause you're my mom," the song says. In the lyrics, he says he was angry when he wrote Cleaning Out My Closet and he cringes every time he hears it on the radio. -

Video of Solange Attacking Jay Z in an Elevator

Video footage of what appears to be Solange attacking Jay Z in an elevator has just surfaced. Obtained by TMZ, in the video Jay, Solange, and Beyoncé are all packed in the elevator along with what looks to be a security guard , and are all still dressed in their formal wear. Solange begins kicking and hitting Jay repeatedly, while he backs up towards one side of the elevator.
After leaving the Met Gala after party, Jay went solo in one limo, and Beyoncé and Solange in the other.

The Standard Hotel in NYC's Meatpacking District has sent an official statement:
"We are shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing our guests. We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity."

Michael Jackson death trial takes bizarre twist

A testimony in Michael Jackson wrongful death trial has revealed that the co-author of a study on propofol addiction funded by AEG Live and used in their defence trial lost his medical license for writing illegal drug prescriptions.

It was revealed that Dr. Torin Finver was hired to help with the concert promoter study after he lost his job at a pizza parlor and took a job driving a Goodwill truck, CNN reported.
The revelation was an odd twist in the trial of the billion-dollar lawsuit filed by Jackson's mother, Katherine, and three children, which is being heard by a Los Angeles jury.

Record hiccupper has been hiccupping for fourteen months

In a bizarre incident, a man from Ireland has been suffering from a chronic condition called 'synchronous diaphragmatic flutter', due to his hiccupping every seven seconds since last July.

The 37-year old Daniel Clavin has had an estimated 5.25 million hiccups since the morning after he attended a stag party, where he had the usual mix of beer and spirits, in July 2012, the Mirror reported.
Due to this problem, Clavin sometimes passes out or stays awake all night, and has spent several nights in the spare room so that his wife Susan can sleep.
The BT software worker, who has undergone endoscopies, a cat scan, changed his diet, taken tranquillisers and seen a chiropractor in search of a cure, added that sometimes, he can't breathe for 30 seconds as it locks up his diaphragm.

Miley Cyrus says people are overthinking her VMAs performance

Miley Cyrus says she wanted to "make history" with her raunchy performance at the MTV Video Music Awards show in New York last week.
"I don't pay attention to the negative because I've seen this play out so many times ... Madonna's done it. Britney's done it. Every VMA performance, that's what you're looking for; you're wanting to make history," the 20-year-old former Disney Channel star told MTV Monday.
"Me and Robin [Thicke] the whole time said, 'You know, we're about to make history right now,'" Cyrus said.
The former "Hannah Montana" star was seen scantily clad, grinding against Thicke and making vulgar gestures with a foam finger throughout her performance at the VMAs.
"They're overthinking it," Cyrus said of those who criticized her song and dance routine. "You're thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it. Like, I didn't even think about it 'cause that's just me."

Zendaya spotted on Follow Back List - Tweevelop

There must be something about Tweevelop that make celebrities want to add their Twitter Account to it and gain more followers for free.

Why booze is music to the ears!

A new survey has found that four alcohol brands-Patron tequila, Hennessy cognac, Grey Goose vodka, and Jack Daniel's whiskey-accounted for more than half of alcohol brand mentions in the songs that mentioned alcohol use in Billboard's most popular song lists in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

The study from researchers at the Boston University School of Public Health and the Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth (CAMY) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, which is the first to examine the context of specific brand mentions in depth, found that alcohol use was portrayed as overwhelmingly positive, with negative consequences rarely mentioned.
Of the 720 songs examined, 167 (23.2 percent) mentioned alcohol and 46 (6.4 percent) mentioned specific alcohol brands.
The leading four brands accounted for more than half (51.6 percent) of all alcohol brand mentions.
Alcohol mentions were most common in urban songs (rap, hip-hop and R and B - 37.7 percent of songs mentioned alcohol), followed by country (21.8 percent) and pop (14.9 percent).
At least 14 long-term studies have found that exposure to alcohol marketing in the mass media increases the likelihood that young people will start drinking or, if already drinking, drink more.
Adolescents in the US spend approximately 2.5 hours per day listening to music.
"Given the heavy exposure of youth to popular music, these results suggest popular music may serve as a major source of promotion of alcohol use among youth," study co-author David Jernigan, PhD, director of CAMY, said.
The study is published online by Substance Use and Misuse.

Harry Styles laughs off ex-Taylor Swift's VMAs jibes as a joke

One-Direction member Harry Styles has responded to his former girlfriend Taylor Swift after she took a obvious dig at him in her MTV Video Music Award acceptance speech.

The 23-year-old singer was accepting the trophy for the Best Female Video for her song 'I Knew You Were Trouble' when she took the dig saying, that she would like to thank the person who inspired this song, who knows exactly who he is, as she now got one of these, the Mirror reported.
Styles told Extra that it was alright, asserting that Swift likes a joke and he liked a joke as much as the next guy, so it was all good. (ANI)

Miley Cyrus' dad supports her raunchy act

Singer Miley Cyrus' father Billy Ray has spoken up in support of her recent bold and flirtatious act at an awards function. The performance with Robin Thicke, at the MTV Video Music Awards, saw Cyrus twerking and flirting with the fellow singer. It got her a lot of negative publicity. Cyrus' father says he would have done the same thing, reports femalefirst.co.uk. Cyrus took to Twitter to convey a message from her father to her followers on the microblogging site. "Mile, if twerking would have been invented and I had a foam finger I would have done the same thing you did - dad," Cyrus posted on behalf of Billy Ray.

*NSYNC fuels VMA reunion rumors on Twitter

Could it be? Will *NSYNC perform at the VMAs Sunday night? The boy bander's Twitter account seemed to hint at it. Singer Wyclef Jean to run for Haitian Presidency - Again ?

Former Fugees Singer Wyclef Jean has decided to contest for the post of President of Haiti.
Former Deputy Pierre Eric Jean-Jacques said Jean will run as part of his coalition in the November 28 election.
Jean's spokesperson said the singer has planned to make an announcement on Thursday, but declined to say what it would be.
"Jean-Jacques, who will be seeking to return to the Chamber of Deputies in the election, said he will be a candidate for a new coalition that calls itself Ansanm Nou Fo, which translates as "together we are strong" in Creole," reports Telegraph.
The 37-year-old singer was born outside Port-au-Prince but left the island as a child and grew up in Brooklyn.
Jean has always been an outspoken advocate for the Caribbean country in which he was born, and was one of the first celebs to travel to Haiti after the devastating earthquake in January.
Jean's uncle, Raymond Joseph, who is Haiti's ambassador to the US, is also contesting for the post of President.

Pop star Lady Gaga's upcoming album "Artpop" features a "love letter" she wrote to Italian fashion designer Donatella Versace.

"The song 'Donatella' is my love letter to Donatella Versace," aceshowbiz.com quoted Gaga as saying.
She described the song as "an incredible, crazy fun pop song with really raising electronic beats that I did with producer Zedd.
"It's about being a fearless female and not caring what people say about you, being proud of who you are, and walking the walk no matter what," the 27-year-old added.

Thai action star enters Hollywood - Fast And Furious 7

Thai martial artist Tony Jaa has joined the cast of "Fast And Furious 7", marking his debut in Hollywood. This is also his first English language movie.

"I have been a big fan of the 'Fast And Furious' franchise. The films are fast-paced, fun and keep the audience involved," the actor told hollywoodreporter.com.
"There is a great mix of humour and action, something I really appreciate. There is no better film to be involved in for a first US studio production," he added.
Director James Wan, who made "The Conjuring", has cast Jaa in a role that remains unknown.
Meanwhile, Jaa, best known for starring in "Ong-Bak" series, is delighted to team up with Vin Diesel and wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson in "Fast And Furious 7".
"Having a chance to work with Vin Diesel and The Rock (Johnson) already makes me a winner," he said.

Deion Sanders Jr.s visit with Lil Wayne scrutinized

Southern Methodist University is trying to determine how a player -- the son of NFL great Deion Sanders -- got backstage at a Dallas Lil' Wayne concert.

Deion Sanders Jr. was photographed with Lil' Wayne last week wearing an SMU shirt, NFL Draft 365 reported. The photo turned up online.
Under National Collegiate Athletic Association rules, college players cannot use their status to get any kind of benefit.
Cynics, however, suggest that Sanders Sr.'s celebrity and friendship with Lil' Wayne were what got his son backstage, the report said.
The elder Sanders, nicknamed "Prime Time" and "Neon Deion," spent 16 years in the NFL and is now in the Hall of Fame. In an unusual career path, he also played for several Major League baseball teams.
His son, however, is entering his freshman year at SMU in Dallas and has not yet played for the Mustangs.
"We don't expect to find anything amiss, but it's our responsibility to check stuff like this out," Brad Sutton, sports information director for SMU, told College Football Talk.

After photos emerged of the Biebs account on Tweevelop, twitter users used the #IFollowBieber and #FollowbackBieber and had it trending on Twitter. They also showed photos of Tweevelop with his account on it.

Psy bids Gangnam Style goodbye

South Korean rapper Psy bid goodbye to 'Gangnam Style' in front of over 25,000 partygoers at Future Music Festival Asia at the Sepang International Circuit.

"Look out for my new single on April 13. It's an honour to finish off nine months of Gangnam Style in Malaysia," the Star Online quoted him as saying.

He then treated the crowd to two performances of 'Gangnam Style', which has recorded over 1.39 billion views on Youtube.

Psy, whose original name is Park Jae-sung, said that he had gotten tired of 'Gangnam Style' and urged fans to look forward to his new single next month.
