It's a topsy-turvy world in console, portable, and desktop gaming. And new sales numbers for November from the NPD Group indicate just how wonky the market can be.

Take, for example, total sales of all gaming-related objects (hardware and software) compared between the months of November 2011 and November 2010. In total, sales of all-things-gaming reached three billion dollars in November 2011, but that's a scant four-tenths of a percent higher than last year's sales figures of $2.99 billion for the month.
