Katy Perry breaks silence on twitter post split with Russell Brand

Katy Perry has taken to twitter to warn fans against believing gossip that has been doing rounds since her split with Russell Brand.

The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer made it crystal clear on Saturday that she speaks for herself and also took a swipe at her parents who had publicly given their opinion on their daughter's troubles.

"Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, "close sources" or my family," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying in a tweet.

Her parents, pastors Keith and Mary Hudson had spoken about their daughter's divorce for the first time, from the pulpit of their evangelical church, which was unusually packed.

The ministers had suggested that Perry's split with Russell was a gift sent by God, to help them fill churches.
