The biggest unkept secret in the tech world just added to its list of reports as Apple Inc. is now said to be planning a March launch of its iPad 3, and will follow that up with the iPad 4 in October, according to Fox News.

Fox cites Asian media as saying suppliers of Apple's parts for the iPads expect the next model to be released in March and feature a QXGA 1,536 x 2,048-pixel HD display and a battery with longer life than what is now available. At the same time, the current iPad 2 would have its price reduced to $399 to help it compete with the cheaper Kindle Fire tablet Amazon.com Inc. launched recently.

BGR.com also reported that the new iPad 3 would have HD-capabile FaceTime video chat and an 8-megapixel camera.

Previous reports had indicated Apple would plan two new iPads and a new iPhone, with the first iPad launching as early as later this month, but specific details of the upgrades to the mobile tablet were not included until this latest round of rumors.
