A new price checking app and promotion by Seattle-based Amazon is drawing the ire of retailers, who argue the company is taking advantage of tax loopholes to unfairly attack brick and mortar stores.

Amazon's new "Price Check" app for iPhone and Android lets you scan prices when you're in a store and offers up the lowest prices it can find. The company is also offering a special 5% discount for users on Saturday December 10th.

But critics lambaste the program, arguing Amazon is essentially bribing people to visit small businesses, share price information and then leave empty handed.
